Visiting Iceland is one country on most people’s bucket list of destinations to see.  And I’ve  recently returned from a trip to this unique island where I experienced the very best of what Iceland offers visitors.

 

A Short Trip to Another World

Iceland is just a 2-hour flight away, yet it feels like you’ve landed in another world…a world of lava flows, geysers, waterfalls, thermal baths, northern lights, and simply unique raw scenery.  All of it energising and spiking the senses to the fullest.

Must-Do When There

My Iceland trip was an incredible experience and I guarantee you will not be disappointed when you visit.  To help you have the best Iceland experience, the following are my top recommendations for a 3- or 4-night break.

  • Spend a couple of hours in either the Blue Lagoon or Sky Lagoon and simply relax and enjoy the benefits of the mineral-rich waters that cleanse, strengthen, and rejuvenate skin.

 

  • Take a Northern Lights cruise.  It’s 2 hours of sheer enjoyment and incredible to witness and experience*

 

  • Take the Golden Circle Tour and be awed by majestic waterfalls like Gullfoss, then top it off with a snowmobile ride on the Langjokull Glacier – the 2nd largest in Iceland.

 

  • Food Walk in Reykjavik – this is a terrific way to spend a few hours getting to know Iceland’s capital while visiting local restaurants and tasting delicious local dishes.

 

  • When in Reykjavik, you absolutely must visit the landmark Hallgrimskirkja Church, 74.5 metres tall, and the second tallest building in Iceland.  Make sure you take the elevator to the top of the tower for amazing views across the old city.
